The website for cartoonist Gary Larson’s The Far Side has been updated with a new cartoon and message: “Uncommon, unreal, and (soon-to-be) unfrozen. A new online era of The Far Side is coming!”

The website is run by Andrew McMeel Universal, The Far Side‘s syndicate partner since 1985. Larson’s The Far Side ran in newspapers from January 1, 1980 to January 1, 1995 when the cartoonist publicly retired. Since then, Larson has published work intermittently including a cover for The New Yorker.

Andrews McMeel Univeral has not responded to inquiries from Newsarama about this change to the site.
